Colocasia (Xanthosoma Sagittifolium) also known as Elephant Ears is a great plant for producing HUGE leaves and bringing that "jungle" look to your garden. Once the plant is received it will need to be plant using a well draining soil, in the largest planter you can provide, as this will allow plant to give you the biggest leaves it can. It will need heavy watering daily and lots of fertiliser. The plant is frost tender, so will need to be overwintered in a greenhouse or inside, The tuber can be dug up and also stored dry and planted the following spring, This is a great specimen plant to add to any urban or jungle garden. Each year the leaves and plant will get bigger and bigger, producing off shoots, which can be separated, if desired, to produce further plants, or left to allow the plant to be a focal point of your jungle garden.
