Grow your own edible Galangal! This is a well known Thai and Asian cooking ingredient which although similar to ginger, has a distinct flavour that is required for certain dishes like Thai green curry, It is part of the ginger family and can be grown outside during the summer month. It will produce beautiful tropical foliage to your garden and if lucky, you may get it to flower, The flowers are very delicate, like all gingers and fragrant, which will add that extra tropical look to the garden. You can dig up the rhizome and "harvest" the galangal at any time for your cooking needs, or leave the plant to multiply and get bigger each year. Like all gingers, it is frost tender, so best that the rhizome is dug up and kept dry over winter or placed in a pot and kept inside growing or in a greenhouse. You can in the spring then divide the rhizome carefully to produce further plants. Presented in 12cm pot.
