The Hummingbird tree is a small, fast growing tropical tree that is part of the legume family. It is native to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. It can be easily container grown to make the perfect conservatory talking piece! It will generally flower in its 2nd year of growth, provided with the correct conditions. The leaves alone make a great tropical setting for highlighting the bright red flowers which are a fantastically unusual in shape and in a display of red with a splash of red and yellow.
